Fine Grinding was founded in 1942 as a small privately owned business, at it's current site, as an associated company to William Smith (Fluorspar) Ltd.
During the company's first decade of business it's principal occupation was the crushing, drying and grading of a locally dug mineral, Fluorspar.
Gradually more processing equipment was commissioned at the site and as a general reduction of Fluorspar usage was experienced (due mainly to changes in steel making techniques) it became necessary for the company to broaden the scope of materials it was handling.
The company diversified into the processing of other minerals and ores and more specialist processing equipment was installed. The processing equipment operated at our site is designed to be flexible and adaptable enabling the company to respond positively to many specialist assignments
Fine Grinding are proud to remain privately owned. An array of different materials are now handled, the company has steadily grown and is now a major processor and supplier of industrial minerals, aggregates and ores. Turnover has increased significantly in recent years in line with the companies expansion into new markets and materials.
